ABOUT ALBUM

Written by singer, saxophonist, and founder of the band, Gabi Rose, along with drummer and co-writer Jake Navarro and producer, Anthony Lopardo, “Disease” is a comical reflection of being at home sick, talking about all the weird thoughts one might have during this time along. It was actually written while Gabi and Jake had COVID-19 for the second time, forced to cancel plans to spend the holidays with friends and family, so instead, they quarantined together. What started out as an indie rock song with no intention to actually become an Enrose song, was transformed in the studio with the addition of R&B drums, a sing-rap on the second verse, digital sounds on Gabi’s AKAI EWI, and contrasted by a heavy grunge chorus. “Disease” marks the beginning of what could be a new genre altogether- grunge R&B.
Because of their love for 90’s and early 2000’s bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and more, it makes perfect sense for this type of raw, dirty, emotionally-exposed rock sound to work its way into the Enrose repertoire at some point. Not to mention Gabi Rose’s viral video series, “Guitar Riffs, but on Sax” exploding across TikTok, where she plays iconic guitar riffs on saxophone. Gabi also got reacquainted with her rock roots in 2022 by joining alternative rock/pop/metal band, Bilmuri, founded by Johnny Franck. But ultimately it was R&B that inspired Gabi to start this project in the first place- artists like Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, D’Angelo, etc, which is what you will hear from the debut Enrose EP, “Wait, Create” released in April 2022. Wanting to go against the norm and try something new, Enrose blends this unlikely pairing of grunge rock and R&B for the very first time with “Disease.” Gabi and the team are excited about this release and have more music to come with some serious momentum!

“Disease” is available for digital download and streaming on September 9, 2022.

Disease

Home
I got a lot of friends at home
Got little houses in my phone

It all came knocking at my door
And now I'm medicating all alone

Week
It's been a semblance of a week
The morning grits stuck in my teeth
And now my bones are getting weak
Coddling my ADD

No don't you judge me
I got a disease
No don't you judge me
Like everybody

Shit
Guess I'm all alone piggin' out feelin' like Postmate Malone
Auto reply says signing off
And I'm flipping off everyone

I used to know her
Think my life is over
But I got the controller
No need to leave the sofa

Please
Skip the coffee bring me tea
You know the kind that makes you sleep
And nothing knocks me out like watching murders on TV
I got no shame
It was the best part of my week
Made a draft of thoughts that sounded most relatable and please

No don't you judge me
I got a disease
No don't you judge me
Like everybody

Floating, waiving, masturbating
Making more excuses feeling useless
But I'm not complaining
Buying V bucks with my savings

Floating, waiving, masturbating
Making more excuses feeling useless
But I'm not complaining
Buying V bucks with my savings

No don't you judge me
Like everybody
