Enrose – the brand new musical project by saxophonist, vocalist, and songwriter, Gabi Rose. Finally coming into her own artistry, Gabi originally intended for Enrose to be just a solo-studio project, but in the midst of a 2020 global pandemic, she managed to put together a team of musicians who were just as eager to take on a new passion project as she was. All the corporate events, weddings, and restaurant gigs in the world can’t compare to the feeling she gets when writing and performing her own music. From that, Enrose was born.

Early listeners who attended their 2020 live shows say the music reminds them of Anderson .Paak, Moonchild, and Alicia Keys. Gabi is also particularly inspired by Erykah Badu, Grover Washington Jr. and Jill Scott. When you put the 5-piece band together, Enrose drips with soul, R&B, and authenticity. The songs are catchy and dense with talent from musicians Kit Benz (keyboard), Jake Navarro (drums), Mikey Rotunno (bass), and Billy Joe Harden (guitar). Gabi sings and plays alto sax, tenor sax, soprano sax, and flute in the studio- although live, she usually keeps it simple with just her alto saxophone. The band has an unexplainable fusion of minds when it comes to how the music should sound when being played live. Gabi was looking for that in a band and she’s ecstatic that she found one among great friends.

Gabi was raised on Long Island, New York, where she resides now. As a full-time musician, she met some incredible friends and colleagues who began encouraging her to release a solo project. One of those people was Anthony Lopardo, owner of Westfall Recording Company in Farmingdale, NY. Anthony and Gabi started writing music together in 2019 with the goal of writing pop tunes for other artists and establishing a catalogue. Shortly into their musical relationship, Anthony realized that the songs Gabi (enrose) brought to the table should be performed by her, and the tone changed. Gabi was writing and performing with her former band, Chameleonize, at the time as well as doing all the other sorts of work that NY musicians get into. She didn’t plan on taking on this role, but with his encouragement, it seemed like an exciting new opportunity.

Recently, Enrose joined TikTok where she gained over 10,000 followers in just one month. Her cover of “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo went viral and gained so much support that it even caught the eye of some of the curators at TikTok. They asked Gabi if they could use her video in their ad campaign and the commercial she was featured in aired on YouTube, many social media platforms, television, and even in the 2021 Superbowl Pre-show! She will continue to leverage TikTok as a platform to connect with other creatives and promote Enrose to a new audience.

2020 was the year of pre-production, demos, recording, getting the band together, and establishing the foundation for what this would be. They managed to play a handful of shows at Spotlight NY– part of the Paramount Theater in Huntington, Long Island. It felt good to be able to test the songs on a live audience and receive incredible feedback. 2021 will be the year of presenting this project to the world. Enrose released their debut single, “Comatose” on April 2nd with an overwhelmingly positive response, plus a second single, “Wait, Create” on May 21, 2021. Six recorded songs later and more on the way, Enrose has an EP that will be released in 2021.
